Certificate of Attendance
Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance from Chairman session.
Climate and dresscode
The weather in Brasov at this time of year is usually warm with temperatures around 15-20 degrees Celsius. Brasov has a consistent chance of rainfall no matter the time of year, however wet weather rarely sets in for long periods, meaning that most days of a week will be fine and sunny. We recommend bringing an umbrella or rain coat for possible rainy days. Dresscode; business-casual or smart-casual. The Romanians are quite informal, are happy to help and know very well English or even French, German, Hungarian or Spanish.
Currency and Banks
The monetary unit in Romania is the Leu/Lei. Banks opening times to the public are from 09:00 to 17:00 hours from Monday to Friday and from 10:00 to 14:00 hours on Saturdays. Exchange rate is aprox. 4,4 lei=1euro
Credit Cards
Major credit cards are widely accepted in restaurants, hotels and shops. You can get cash with your Visa, MasterCard at any “Bancomat” (ATM).

Please check the validity of your own travel insurance. All reasonable endeavors will be made to hold the BIOATLAS Conference and to present its program as scheduled under circumstances which assure the comfort and safety of all participants and accompanying persons. However, neither BIOATLAS nor its committees, representatives or agents, shall be held liable by any person as a result of the cancellation of BIOATLAS or of any of the arrangements, programs or plans connected therewith, or for any injury, damage or inconvenience which may be suffered by any person while travelling to or from, or during such person’s presence in Romania in connection with this Conference. Participants and accompanying persons are advised to purchase their own insurance against any such occurrences.
In case of force majeure, BIOATLAS 2016 has the right to alter or cancel the Conference without prior notice; however a notice of the occurrence shall be given by BIOATLAS as soon as reasonably possible. Force majeure shall mean any circumstance beyond the reasonable control of BIOATLAS which prevents or impedes the holding of the Conference, including, but not limited to, government action, war or hostilities, riot or civil commotion, plague or other epidemic such as SARS, bird flu, etc, earthquake, flood, fire or other natural physical disaster, explosion, accident or breakdown, strike, lack of the usual means of transportation or terrorism. BIOATLAS shall not be liable for any direct or indirect, incidental or consequential damages, losses, expenditures or any other inconveniences or costs caused by such modification or cancellation of the Conference. Furthermore, registration fees will not be reimbursed by BIOATLAS 2016.
Electricity
The electric current in Romania is 220 volts and plugs and sockets may differ from those in other parts of the world. Travelers should bring adapters or transformers for electrical appliances such as hairdryers and shavers. Some hotels and shops can supply adapters.
Language
The official language of the Congress is English. No simultaneous interpretation will be provided.
Local Time
Local time in Romania is Eastern European Time (GMT+2 hours).
Meals
Coffee/tea is included in the registration fee and will be served daily. All coffee/tea breaks will be served at catering areas within the exhibition hall at “Aula”.
Lunches are included in the registration fee. Tickets are necessary for lunch and they will be given during the registration.
Passport and Visa
Participants are advised to make their own arrangements when travelling to Romania. Visas for entry into Romanian territory are required only by citizens that do not hold the nationality of one of the EU Member States, another State in the EES or the Swiss Confederation.
Safety Issues and Health
Brasov is one of the safest towns in Romania. There are no vaccination requirements for international travelers entering Romania (International Health and Travel, World Health Organization (WHO) 2004), although the Romanian authorities recommend that visitors should be up to date with their official vaccination card.
It is not recommended to stay near the forests by night (for example Tampa Mountain), because of the bears that often search for food in city area.
Shops
Shopping in Brasov is best done on foot, and the city is extremely pedestrian-friendly, since distances within the commercial area are short. Opening times: 10:00 to 20:00.
